Baraikhali town located on the border of Srinagar upazila is very ancient. So the culture of this area is also very rich. Only Hindu and Muslim communities live here. All the residents are Bengali speakers and a Bikrampur accent can be seen in everyone's accent.


The area was once Hindu dominant. At that time Muslims were few in number - but with the change of time Hindus are now minority and Muslims are the majority. But the signature of that noble Hindu still exists everywhere. Their festivals are still celebrated in this area by everyone irrespective of caste. During the rainy season, boating, Durga Puja, Kali Puja are held by people of all religions. Then the whole area becomes festive. Various fairs are held in the area. On the occasion of Kali Puja, various types of fairs, including fairs, are attended by large crowds and are becoming more popular day by day. And of course these Parbans have become an essential part of the cultural heritage of our rural Bengal.


 


Apart from the Eid festival, the people of this area celebrate some festival in every season with great enthusiasm. New Year, Halkhata, Navanna, Dola Yatra, Purnima, Buddhpurnima etc. There is no political conflict in the area. Like referring to the co-existence of different opinions. Our Baraikhali area is a unique example of communal harmony. Even in the long past, there is no instance of communal harmony being disturbed here even during national calamities.


Every year the club organizations of the area organize annual dramas in winter. This natam staging has been going on since 1937. Annual dramas are lavishly spent and are attended by various personalities from the national level cultural arena. National days are also celebrated in a grand manner every year. Baraikhali tradition in cultural practices is the oldest in this area.


 


The reputation of this area in sports is enviable. Every year local club organizations, Sevak Sangh, Pragati Sangsad, Diamond Club, Purbachal Sangsad organize football and cricket tournaments. This year, Pragati Sangsad organized the final game of "Mansoor-ul-Karim Smriti Gold Cup Football" - In addition to the former captain of the national team, Animul, several well-known football players participated in it.


 


For the past few years, the Sevak Sangh has been organizing -motorcycle and televised prize football tournaments. The games are very crowded and festive.


 


Baraikhali area produces Pithapuli in different parbans - the taste and variety of pitha is not found in any other area of Vikrampur. At this time, according to local culture, girls come from father-in-law's house to father's house in Nair. This tradition of various cooking and food fairs is organized for them and for the son-in-law on the day of the son-in-law Shashti.


 


So it can be said that Baraikhali area has a long and ancient cultural tradition and in continuation of that people of this area have been living together in harmony. The source of this harmony is the rich cultural heritage in the area which Baraikhali town can be an example of it.
