Barkhali Janpaditi is the past ruler. However, till date there is no historical or research document or evidence about how ancient it is. But locally at various times, quite old gold coins, idols of suffering etc. were found here during ponding and cutting of canals. Where the ruins of temples are found or the traces are still being fixed the comments of learned scholars are at least 400 years old. Baraikhali area is called Bhati region. Nilchu area. Presumably the area was inaccessible due to geography. Boats were the city's system of communication - but the two villages of Baraikhali, Churain and Shekharnagar became school hotels almost a hundred years ago.
